RiverStone International
Helping the board understand how AI could transform their organisation.
The Challenge
RiverStone wanted fast, authoritative answers to two commercial questions: where can AI create real value today, and what next steps would be to ensure these opportunities are safe, auditable and compliant with NIST and the EU AI Act? They needed evidence-based analysis that executives could act on immediately, not a lengthy theoretical study.
Our Approach
We ran a focused, audit-grade spot assessment combining document review, stakeholder interviews and process walkthroughs with an external AI specialist. The work covered four areas: a NIST AI Risk Management Framework gap analysis, EU AI Act readiness mapping, a prioritisation matrix separating quick wins from strategic bets, and a controls view linking regulatory gaps directly to actions. All outputs were delivered in an executive memo with clear next steps. The assessment was designed to give senior leaders evidence they could use to make funding and resourcing decisions quickly, not sit on a shelf.
The Results
We gave RiverStone a clear, evidence-based assessment of their AI readiness position across strategy, data, governance and delivery capability. The findings gave leadership the clarity they needed to make informed investment decisions. We delivered a prioritised pipeline of practical opportunities, separating quick wins that could prove value fast from higher-value strategic initiatives requiring longer-term investment. Each opportunity was assessed for feasibility, impact and regulatory risk. We mapped specific NIST and EU AI Act requirements to actions through a controls framework, turning regulatory compliance into a concrete roadmap rather than abstract principles. The executive memo provided three clear, resourced next steps to move from pilot work to auditable production. Everything was designed for decision-making, not further study. Leadership left the assessment with the evidence and priorities they needed to act.
What Made This Work
We combined an audit lens with a commercial mindset. Fast, evidence-led analysis targeted at regulator expectations, paired with a pragmatic use case pipeline that executives could fund and sponsor immediately. RiverStone got regulatory clarity and a business case in one assessment, giving them a short roadmap from idea to compliant delivery.
