Bloch AI Partners with KNIME to Launch First Analytics Course for Auditors
Bloch AI and KNIME have partnered to deliver the first data analytics training course designed specifically for audit professionals, addressing the growing need for technical skills in both internal and external audit functions.
The course, running from 1-4 December at 5pm CET, will introduce auditors to KNIME's open-source analytics platform through practical, audit-focused case studies. Each one-hour daily session will use journal entry analysis as the foundation, making the content immediately relevant to both external financial auditors and internal audit teams.
"Auditors are under pressure to analyse full populations rather than samples, spot anomalies in millions of transactions, and provide data-driven insights," said Jamie Crossman-Smith, founder of Bloch AI. "KNIME gives audit teams these capabilities without requiring them to become programmers. This course shows them how."
KNIME Analytics Platform is already used by audit teams at major organisations, but this marks the first time the company has offered training tailored specifically to audit use cases. The platform's visual workflow approach lets users build analytics processes by connecting nodes in a drag-and-drop interface, eliminating the need for coding whilst still providing access to advanced techniques including machine learning.
The journal analysis focus means participants will learn techniques directly applicable to their work: identifying duplicate payments, detecting unusual transaction patterns, analysing segregation of duties conflicts, and automating routine testing procedures. The approach works for both statutory audit teams analysing client financial records and internal audit functions reviewing organisational controls.
"We've had internal audit teams tell us KNIME has been transformative for their analytical capabilities," Crossman-Smith added. "But they've had to figure it out themselves. This course gives auditors a structured introduction with examples they'll recognise from their daily work."
The course will be delivered remotely, making it accessible to audit professionals globally. Registration details will be available soon on the KNIME website at www.knime.com.
KNIME Analytics Platform is open-source software used by over 100,000 professionals across data science, analytics and business intelligence roles. Its adoption in audit functions has grown significantly in recent years as teams seek alternatives to expensive proprietary audit analytics tools.
Bloch AI is a KNIME partner specialising in analytics implementation for finance and audit teams. The company has previously delivered KNIME training to organisations including Verizon and builds custom analytics solutions for internal audit functions.
